For a long time I’ve been both reading and seeing great reviews of products from Lush always thinking “I’ll have to buy some next time I visit the UK” (or even Stockholm or Gothenburg). Since I don’t visit the UK every month, not even every year, I still haven’t tried any product from Lush. I didn’t want to order online, I want to sniff and try before I buy.

Then yesterday when I was out for a walk in my city I found out that they are opening a store here “as soon as possible”! With walking distance from my house. That sure was a really good walk, haha. Their Facebook page gave me the date, 14th Nov – just in time for Christmas! 🙂

What are your favourite Lush products?

The rainy autumn weather suddenly turned into last day of summer weather (sun, sun, sun!). Luckily enough I already swatched my NYX Eyeshadow Trios 🙂

My thoughts: All three are super creamy with amazing colour payoff! I would definitely recommend this trio if you’re into greens.

My thoughts: These are also very creamy. Baby Blue and Pacific have better colour payoff than Navy. Navy is matte and the other two are more shimmery.

And swatched on my arm with one(!) finger stroke they look like this:nyx eyeshadow trios - 02
From left to right: TS08 (spring leaf, lime green, green tea), TS07 (baby blue, pacific, navy)

>> Coming up next: NYX Single Eyeshadow and NYX Nude Matte Shadow

First day of autumn

So, I know I haven’t been very active with my blog posts and I’m not going to give you lame excuses about how life got in the way, hah. Anyhow, today is the first day of autumn 2013 according to the rainy weather outside. I kinda like it. It makes it OK to light some lovely candles (WoodWick!) and get cosy under a blanket and watch a good film. And furthermore, I LOVE autumn colours.

One of my friends got herself a new DSLR camera (a super duper expensive one) so autumn will be fantastic on the photographic front 🙂

I know you’re probably here to see some make-up swatches, and swatches you shall get.. I’ve got a NYX swatches post in the making!

Review: A-Brand AB – Nail Polish Remover Quick & Easy

I bought this at Åhléns when I was in desperate need of a new nail polish remover.

Quick & Easy Nail polish remover quickly and easily removes nail polish. It has a mild formula free from acetone and oil.

Ingredients: Ethyl Acetate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Aqua.

Function? Nope, this did nothing for my nails. It just smeared the nail polish out on my fingers instead of removing it.

Scent? Smells like any typical nail polish remover (i.e. not so good). Quite strong scent.

Packaging? I actually like the packaging. Big enough to bring along on travels.

Price? Åhléns isn’t famous for being cheap, so this was expensive for the amount you get. 150 ml.

Verdict? 0/5. Don’t buy!

Review: This Works Clean Skin 5-in-1 Water

I was easily persuaded to try this out by Fleur de Force. After almost finishing my first bottle and am about to order a new one (spoiler!), I thought it was time for my review 🙂

This Works

On This Works’ website:
MODERN: Gently cleanses, balances, brightens, refreshes and removes all traces of make-up.
NATURAL: Rosewater and fruit-packed botanical waters help shed skin cells and boost elasticity. Ph balancing formula with olive and almond oils to cleanse and Wild Water Mint to cool and tone.
BEAUTY: For healthy-looking, purified and radiant skin.

Ingredients:Aqua, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Polysorbate 20, Olive Oil PEG-7 Esters, Almond Oil PEG-8 Esters, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Vaccinium Myrtillus (Bilberry) Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, 1-Methylhydantoine-2-imide, Mentha Aquatica (Wild Water Mint) Leaf Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Extract, Dehydroacetic Acid, Acer Saccharinum (Sugar Maple) Extract.

I’ve been using Dermalogica Ultracalming Cleanser and thought it was doing its job until I tried Clean Skin 5-in-1 Water from This Works. What a difference! A few cotton pads with this on and I feel completely make-up free and cleansed in my face! Also, my fair skin tends to get a lot of redness and I feel this is calming the redness down. YAY!

Scent? A mild scent of roses. My sensitive nose happily approves!

Packaging? It’s big and the top is made of thin plastic. It’s so tall and thin that it’s easy to whisk it to the floor, and when you do (yes when, not if) it’s going to break. In my case, fortunately, only the top cracked so I could still use it. Another downside is that because of its size its hard to easily take it with you (won’t fit in any regular sized toilet bag). Still, I can live with the size when the product is this good!

Price? $32.15 $27.48 for 200 ml at (currently on sale!). Some may think this is a bit expensive, but compared to the one from Dermalogica and a lot of other cleansing products this is cheap!

Verdict? 5/5 loui points. Don’t know how anything can top this. Oh, a better packaging would be nice.

Hi! I’m 25 and a regular girl (ehm, woman, but that sounds so old..) from Sweden with no education in cosmetics what-so-ever. I have very fair and somewhat sensitive skin. This blog is going to give you guys reviews and swatches with my honest opinions about cosmetics I’m trying out.

By the way, bear in mind that most of the cosmetics are like 50 – 150 % more expensive here in Sweden than in the US. Insane, I know. Hauls won’t be MEGA hauls (because that would totally kill my finances).

And finally, English is not my native language so be gentle with me. I hope I do better than Google Translate 😉

Cheers! /Louise
